Wrestlemania Rumor: WWE’s Brock Lesnar Returning To UFC, Dana White Confirms

It’s been widely reported that current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s contract with the company is up after Wrestlemania 34. With that in mind, practically everyone who’s ever watched professional wrestling expects Roman Reigns to walk out of the WWE’s biggest annual show as the new champion. Now, it’s possible UFC president Dana White has confirmed Lesnar’s exit from the wrestling company.

Appearing on UFC Today (via CBS Sports), White had no hesitation when asked about Lesnar’s future in the MMA organization. «Yeah, Brock Lesnar’s coming back,» he reveals. «I don’t know when, but yes he is.»

While this shouldn’t come as a surprise, the timing of White making the statement days before Wrestlemania is interesting. As much as Lesnar losing the Universal Championship is a foregone conclusion at this point, wrestling fans like to believe that anything could happen—especially at Wrestlemania.

Still, White’s comment that he doesn’t know when Lesnar will be back is interesting. After his 2016 win over Mark Hunt, Lesnar was found to have failed a performance-enhancing drug test. His win was turned into a no contest and he was suspended from UFC. Before his return, it was stipulated that he would have to spend six months in the USADA testing pool to determine he was keeping his system clean from PEDs.

That’s a subject that came up last July when it was rumored Lesnar was considering a jump back to the UFC. At that time, a UFC official confirmed Lesnar had yet to re-enter the testing pool. Whether he’s begun drug testing since then remains a mystery.

While it seems the outcome of Lesnar vs. Reigns is all but set in stone, there is still plenty to look forward to at Wrestlemania 34.
